Off season Up date!!!

What's up everyone? I hope you are all doing well.

Wow, where has this year gone? Time flies when you are having fun!!

I thought I would just post an update on how things are going with me. So here goes....

I am really into my offseason now and my strength in the gym is improving big time. I have taken my food consumption to another level because I know I need to eat more if I want to make the gains that I desire. I feel like I am constantly eating. Thank you to my training partner Rob for showing me some new tricks on getting more food down. I often struggle with my appetite and getting all my food down in the offseason. I am trying to eat 7-8 meals a day. I am eating more beef (extra lean) and I am keeping my carbohydrates pretty high.

I have recently started going to the chiropractor to get my body adjusted. My goal is to go every other week and I feel so good after each session so it is definitely worth it.

My left bicep tendon has been playing up lately so I have been getting Active Release Therapy (ART) on it. So, at the moment I cannot train biceps heavy but I have been doing slower repetitions to compensate. I think it is so important to look after yourself and your body in order to remain healthy and happy.

I have received the IFBB Professional Contest dates for 2009. There are some awesome shows that I could do in 2009 but I am more focused on making gains in my offseason rather than competing. Once Hany Rambod thinks I am ready than I will compete. My heaviest offseason weight was 250lbs in 2007 so we plan to get me up to 260lbs in good condition. WOW! I love this sport!

Tonight is chest so to fire me up I am going to watch some of Phil Heath's chest workouts and play some banging UK Garage Music in my car on the way to the gym.

I must keep saying to myself Mr. Olympia, it is my dream to make that stage.
I cannot do it without a good team! Megs is always there supporting/encouraging me with everything and making sure I eat and sleep. Rob, my training partner kicks my ass in the gym and helps me take my training to another level and he is a great friend!

Until next time peeps!

Hi everone,

Nothing really to report here my end. Just doing the normall stuff such as eat, sleep, train. I did have to take a week off from the gym recently due to over doing it in the gym. Hany advised me to shut it down for a week. Also my training buddy Rob was sick with the flu so the week off was timed perfectly. I tell you what, taking that week off has made me so hungry to train. I am one of those guys who never really takes time off but this time is has really helped.

Tomorrow is leg day so I have already switched into the "leg day" mindset. It is my first leg workout in three weeks so I am not looking to be breaking any records but excited nonetheless.

Good news!!! We are going to start filming my DVD in February and I am really looking forward to that. We have some great ideas for this DVD and hope that we can come out with something different than the training DVDs that we see today. So stay tuned!!

Just before I sign off, I want to thank Rob............. for helping me out and for being a good friend.

Thank you to my little Taz (Meghan)... I love you lots!!

Off season up date!! October 2008

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share with you all my off season progress so far. I have my off season plan underway now with Hany Rambod. We are really focusing on getting me bigger and fuller. We are also focusing on my weak body parts. He gave me a crazy work out for my delts and they hurt for about a week. I usually never get sore in my delts but the workout last week totally left my delts feeling fried!!! LOL!

Right now my weight is around 245lbs and I am feeling pretty good. My diet is back on track after taking a little time off after the Europa. I am back to eating 6-7 meals a day and my water intake is back up which really helps with my pumps in the gym.

The best news off all is that I found a great training partner. His name is Rob Chalifoux. He has a similar shape to mine. We are the same height and weight too. We have been training together for three weeks now and training with him has given me more drive and focus!! I needed to take things to the next level and having Rob as my training partner will definitely make me a better bodybuilder. Our FST - 7 training is crazy and we are both going all out in every training session. Rob has great potential as an athlete and has an excellent chance on getting his pro card.

Hany and I have are thinking that my next show should be in 2010. I have so much growing to do and if it means taking all of next year off then I will do that. I will start posting some offseason pics of my progress in the next month or so.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all my fans who have given me so much support this year and no matter what my placings are they always show me love.
I would also like to thank Hany for taking me under his wing and making me a better pro.
Train hard everyone and never give up on your dreams.

God bless

New quotes (I hope you all like them)

Hi to you all,

I would like to share with you all my Abraham quotes. It really gets you thinking!!...........

The amount of time it takes you to get from where you are to where you want to be, is only the amount of time it takes you to change the vibration within you. Instant manifestation could be yours if you could instantly change the vibration.--- Abraham

You’re always on your way somewhere. The key is: find a way to be happy wherever you now are on your way to where you really want to be. (We’re speaking of the state of being you want.) It does not matter where you are; where you are is shifting constantly—but you must turn your attention to where you want to go. And that’s the difference between making the best of something and making the worst of something.--- Abraham

The mind is the key!!

Good day everyone,

Something that I am learning over the years, well the last two years since I turned pro is the power of the mind. Not just in my pro bodybuilding career but in everyday life. I always have to be in a positive state of mind. I have found this most challenging week in week out. When dieting for a show I am someone who seems to always be in a negative state of mind, but what I am learning in life is to always be positive no matter what. The hardest thing I find being an athlete is shifting my mind set from negative to positive. This is very hard to do indeed but what works every time is try to make yourself happy, then you start to feel more positive. Yes there are things in my life that I still want as an athlete and as a person but I cant stress over it, this is the worst thing I can do, all I can do is say to myself I will get theses things no matter what, it will happen, I believe it will happen, I deserve it. What I say to myself time and time again is SUCCESS, SUCCESS, SUCCESS all though the day. This really helps put me in a positive frame of mind. As I said before this is not easy and I am still learning how to use positive thinking as one of my main weapons as an athlete and person. Bottom line is are you happy?
God bless

Feel Good!!!

Dear all,

Some more quotes I like to read on a daily basis

God bless to you all!!............

Tell everyone you know: "My happiness depends on me, so you're off the hook." And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they're doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel—and then, you'll love them all. Because the only reason you don't love them, is because you're using them as your excuse to not feel good.--- Abraham

Positive thinking!!

Hey everyone,

Hope you all are having a great day. I would like to share with you all the importance of positive thinking. Below is something I read everyday, check it out........

What is the answer to every difficult circumstance in life?
Take the positive path.
Choosing the positive path can be easy at some times in our life and more difficult at other times. When everything is going along well, when we are on a roll, choosing the positive path just flows through us as an easy, natural choice. When something negative comes along it can be far more challenging for us to choose the positive path. But choose it we must! No matter how challenging the negativity may be, there is simply no other way to bring our lives back into positivity.
If negative situations appear, you must use your will and refuse to lower yourself to negative thoughts, words, actions, and emotions. Use your will and decide that not only will you focus on the positive, but you will ramp up the positive in every thought, word, and action of your day.
It takes determination, strength, faith, and the power of your will to focus on the positive when intense negativity descends, but remember that the Universe and the law of attraction are with you. As you focus on the positive, focus more on the positive, think of the positive, speak of the positive, and take positive and good actions, the law of attraction will give your life wings. Suddenly you will look around you and you will find that the negativity has gone, and that your life has been filled with goodness and joy.

Post comp feed back.

Hello everyone,

It's been four weeks since I competed and now that I am in my offseason I must say that I was not big enough at the Europa. Yes my condition was spot on but I felt I over dieted as well. I think looking back over the last year I just choose the wrong shows and did to many shows in total. For example I made my Pro debut at the Montreal Pro in 2007 then three weeks later competed at the Spain show. Then had a few months off then back on the diet for the Ironman. Then after the ironman I had a few more months off then back on the diet for the Europa. Looking back now I wish I would of just took a year off after the spain show to add more size. But I wanted more succsess after placing so well in spain (top 6)

I can honestly say I took a step back on my physique, I never really had the time to make improvements from the Ironman to the Europa. I just wanted to make up for my placing at the Ironman. Yes you could say it is much harder to place in America but I just wanted to make an impact in the U.S. Again I am learning a valuable lesson that you can not keep doing show after show without having a good offseason. As I said before in previous blogs that I have not had a good offseason since 2004.

Seating here typing this I am so hungry to make my name in the pro ranks. I know hand on heart if I can pack on 10lbs of muscle in my next offseason then it is ON, I know my physique can handle much more muscle and size. I know what I have to do now and with Hany in my corner I feel next year can be great for me. In a wried way it is strange when you are a pro. In the amateurs I was winning shows since 2005 onwards then I turned pro and it feels like I have to start all over again. I remember at the Europa I was saying to myself "lots of call outs, lots of call out" when I finally got a call out I remember flex Lewis cheering me on as he was in the line up.

I am back training and not going crazy as my joints hurt but I am getting some amazing pumps.

Right now my weight is 240lbs. Yes I have had a few treats but I am now eating clean. I do feel at a bit of a loose end right now as I have to wait to the Mr Olympia is finished so I can get my offseason program from Hany who has a few guys and girls doing the Olympia. So harry up Hanny lol

I have been also getting a few emails from fans wishing me good luck for the Atlantic city pro tomorrow and just for the record I will NOT be competing lol. This man needs a off season with lots of food and sleep. I got a lot of growing to do.

Non Bodybuilding topic!!

Something for all of us to think about!!!

Two statements that will serve you very well. The first is: There will always be war. There will always be those who aggravate within others a sense of trouble in order to promote the solution that they already have their mind made up about. And so you're never going to come into agreement as a mass consciousness that this is "the way." There will always be disagreements; therefore, there will always be turmoil; there will always be war.
The other statement, that is our favorite is: Well-Being will always abound, so the dominant experience of the majority of people will always be one of Well-Being. So you can decide, at any point in time, in what part of this you want to play. You can use anything as your excuse to align with Well-being, or you can use anything as your excuse to not align. The thing that we think is at the heart of this discussion is my own personal power. We think that's what you are, sort of, struggling for and reaching for.

I will be back!!

Well it is four days since the show in Dallas Texas and I have had time to reflect. I cant be upset with my placing as I did everything I could do for this show. It was a staked show with the best pro's around. Again I am still learning as it was only my 4Th pro show. But I had a great time in Dallas. The people there are so friendly and it is very cheap too.
As for this week I taking some down time to rest and eat up a bit then next week I start my off season prep. I am also taking a whole year off competing. So I have a whole full year to add more size. In this time I will be working with Hany Rambod though out my off season. So I am looking so forward to seeing the improvements.
Thank you to all my fans who sent me emails when I was in Texas. I came back to over 100 emails from people who said I looked good at the show. Troy Brown is a fighter and never gives up. This game has a lot of ups and downs and it is the one who just keeps taking the hits comes though the champ in end.
Well I got to go and eat some well deserved pasta and a diet coke. But I will be putting progress off season pics on flexonline though out the year so stay tuned for that.

God bless you all and remember...Feel good!!!!!!

4 days to go!!!

Hi Everyone,

Well it is almost time to battle again. I am four days out and have one more training and cardio day left tomorrow then it is time to fill out and rest up for the big day. I must say I don't think I have ever worked as hard for this show. It has been a great journey and a long journey as well. But all I know is that I am ever so happy with the way I look. I just hope that Troy gets noticed and get some great call outs. But what ever happens I am doing what I love and going up against the best in world. I will dedicating this contest to my mother Ann Brown who passed away 12 years to the day. I love you mum.......I know you will be there with me in Dallas.

Again I must say thank you to all my fans, Friends and family for all your love and support. Troy is so ready!!! To my little Taz who has really looked after me this last week...you are my angel baby, I am ever so proud of you!!! I love you baby :)

One last thing before I go is that I love my son very much I hope one day you will understand and that you can be proud of your dad.

God bless everyone. I will pose my heart out on that stage on Friday. Nothing but 110% effort on the day.

Be happy everyone and feel good!!

14 Day's to go baby!!!

Hello everyone,

How are you all doing. I hope life is treating you great.

I am getting real close to the show now (14 days out) and still working extra hard to bring my sharpness though. So I been posing and squeezing my muscle alot. Even when I stand in the supermarket I am always squeezing my glutes and quads lol. I do get a few wried looks let me tell you. One thing I forgot to say in my last blogs is that for this show I used the the gauntlet for my cardio as I normally do power walking on the treadmill. I seem to burn much more calories on it. Plus time seems to fly by when using it. Right now I am not getting hardly any sleep as I up going to the bath room all night so I am pretty tried but it all wroth it as the thought of getting on another pro stage again makes me so excited.

All I can say is that I have worked so hard for this show, not just the last three months but since the ironman. I was back in gym the day after the show. So what ever happens in Texas I am going to have the time of my life and enjoy every single moment of it. I am living my dream doing what I love so it don't get any better than this.

I really think if you keep a positive mind set when getting ready for show it makes it so much more easier but the key for me is to always be happy and think happy thoughts every single day.

Again I going to thank the love of my life Meghan Mccurdy. We have both have been dieting together as she is competing in the biggest show of her life next weekend and to have someone work just as hard as you is so, so inspiring. Thank you baby for everything I can not thank you enough. I love you taz!!!

I will post again next week so stay tuned as I will be a week out.

God bless to each and everyone of you. May all your dreams come true.

4 weeks out from Europa Pro!!

Hello and good day to all of you.
I hope you all are safe and well and staying healthy!!
I am now 4 weeks out from the Europa Pro in Texas.
This will be my 2nd USA pro show and my 4th pro show in total. As always I would like to say that what I am doing now is my childhood dream and I am ever so thankful and grateful that I am able to this.
I am working very hard as ever. Really trying to bring my best ever condition to the table for this show. I am feeling very positive and happy. For this show I was in pretty good condition six weeks out so we have been really focusing on keeping me full as I have been getting a little flat in my muscles on this diet. I have been very constant on my cardio, diet and still doing my FST-7 training while dieting, which I have been following after the Ironman pro show in LA. I really hope to see a difference in my waist line this time as it was to big at the Ironman. My weight this morning was 220lbs. When I left for LA to compete at the ironman it was 228lbs so feeling a lot tighter this time round.
I just want to thank all my fans and family for all there support. Special thank you to my fiance and best friend, training partner, soulmate Meghan Mccurdy for all her pep talks and words of encouragement, I just want to thank you for believing in me. So 4 weeks out and feeling good but still not happy still have a lot of work to do.

God bless to you all and love life.

Troy Brown :)

Ps Feel good everone.

10 weeks Out.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all are safe and well.
I am 3 weeks in to my diet. It does not feel like I am in diet mode as I am trying to get my weight up. I had a bit of a slow start to the diet. But now I am starting to fill out much more.
I have gone right into doing my cardio first thing in the morning and putting away a lot of food, which is hard for me. If anyone knows Troy Brown, that I do find it hard to eat sometimes so I spend most of the force feeding. But that is all good as I am hoping my appetite kicks in next week. As for training, well it is going well and my strength is coming back as you all well know I stopped the HIT training after many years and now doing more volume (FST-7) My goal is to bring up my weak body parts. I have been training arms twice per week. Well that it folks, not much to report just that I really want to nail my condition at the Europa. I will do what ever it takes to get it.

God bless all and train hard.

Whats up people???

Hi everyone,

A new fresh week is now here. This very sort offseason for me has been a strange one to say least. I am at my lightest weight ever in my offseason. This time last year I holding my weight around 250lbs and right Troy Brown is bang on 235lbs. So I am not far away from my competition weight which was at the ironman 241!!! So your thinking why is Troy so light in body weight...well it is going to be a surprise come August at the Europa (I hope)

Since the Ironman I have been working closely with someone in the USA we have really payed more attention to my arms and shoulders. I am praying everyone can notice the results at the Europa. I pray for some good call outs!!

To everyone waiting to get there hands on my very first training DVD...it has been done and we have just finished the cover so not long before it goes out to the public. I am also in the process of filming another DVD here in Canada. We start filming The new DVD next month.

Keep checking my blog for more updates!!

god bless all

PS To my son Rory Brown...... your dad will not let you down.

Been a while everyone!!

Hello everyone,

Ever so sorry for not keeping up to date with my Blog boys and girls. Eight weeks have past since the Ironman and a lot has happened since then. I would first like to point out my thoughts about the Ironman before I go on with whats happening with Troy Brown.
The Ironam was a great experience for me. I got on stage with the best bodybuilders in world. It was a day I will never forget. Even though I never got into the top 15 I still leaned alot from the show and made new friends but above all, I got noticed. I now feel Troy Brown has to compete in the USA all time from now on.
As I said eight weeks have flown by and I was back in the gym the next day after the Ironman. I had my first photo shoot with Musclemag on the Sunday in Lake forest CA. It was a bit of a drive from my hotel in down town LA but well wroth the ride as I believe a bodybuilder should make every effort to do Photo shoots when ever they are in shape. The whole was great but very stuff to say the least. We did around three hours in total and I was so depleted from the show a day before but I said to my self that this is what I want to do so keep going. I had Meghan with me all the way though so she kept me motivated.
Since then I been working hard on a new training program I have been given. I have a new trainer now and we are working hard on my weak body parts.
Are plan is that I compete in August and September. I will be competing in the Europa Pro in Texas and the Atlantic City Pro in September. As I speak I am around 245lbs with a bad back. I pulled my back on Tuesday night doing a leg workout.I have deep tissue tonight so that should help. So I am now going to try and up date you all more often with my progress and what I up to every week. I would like to thank all my fans who sent message on how I looked at the ironman. It was so nice to get such great positive feed back from everyone.

Stay tuned for more of my blogs next.

God bless

3 weeks out from ironman pro show.

Hi everyone :)

I hope you all are safe and well,

Well I am 3 weeks out from making my USA pro debut in LA. I am now currently 230lbs (10lbs lighter than when I was at my debut in Montreal) and in my best ever condition at any show I have ever done 3 weeks out. I am eating lots and still droping so got to keep my food intake up. I really feel that this show will make Troy Brown a force. This is my time to show the world that Troy belongs in the pro ranks. I will be at my best and i will come in 100%. I will be on the money for sure. I just have to Cruise into the show now as I have been dieting for same time now. So the key for me right now is to do nothing crazy in the gym, lots of posing and staying stress free. I am feeling the diet but I am in great spirits.

Thanks for checking my web site out. I will be revamping my site real soon so check it out.

God bless everyone and never give up on a dream!
